Life is full of moments, some good, some bad, others indifferent, but there are those kairos moments when you know you are right where you need to be. My time in the Parent Leadership Training Institute was that for me!
Have you heard of the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI)? PLTI is a parent-centered, anti-racist national organization that partners with parents and communities to equip families with the civic skills, knowledge, and opportunities to be leading advocates for children at home, school, and in the community.
PLTI was informative, enlightening, and continues to provide opportunities for networking and exposure. - Latina Newsome from Cleft of the Rock Foundation
Initially, I didn't know what to expect. All I knew was the topic list was very interesting, and the sessions fit into my schedule. I never anticipated this experience to be paramount in refreshing my life the way it has. This 21-week experience helped to reaffirm my calling and stretch me in multiple areas of my life.
Each week presented thought-provoking topics, guest speakers, small group activities, and leadership opportunities. I have learned so much from everyone in the 2022 cohort and cannot express how invaluable this program is. America needs this in each county! I left every week full and in awe of the wealth of knowledge each facilitator and parent leader had to offer.
I am proud to be a PLTI graduate, and I want to invite others share in the experience. If you are a parent, grandparent, or caregiver, who is passionate about making positive changes in the world - PLTI is for you! The application process is now open, and classes begin on January 21st. PLTI gave me the confidence to unlock my potential to create an impact in the community. - Aixa Espinel from Whole Self-Program
